Unrobed

The spirit wanders, and the mind forgets

all the blisters of darker betrayal…

though the dagger that deceit begets

conjures up such a cruel portrayal…

You are smoke-swathed and screened by selfishness,

a blade masquerades as love beneath you…

your smile dims as you view my helplessness,

your eyes widen, a vicious ringed blue.

Your lips are pursed, the skin swelling cruelly

when you turn to laugh at my upturned face…

do not forget the joy of agony,

oh hate, when wielded by an unrobed grace.
