The Island
Marauding indifference
A pirate ship laying siege
Upon the islets of love.
Fair harbors torn from hemming
Of water and perfect dusk --
Two shades of sweet charity
Unfastened by the crashing
Of shore-heavy waves and wood.
My hair whorled and matted dark
As some wrecked survivor of
Ships. I feed the craggy shoals
With blood undone from my flesh.
