Shadows in the Corner
A dark poison is running through my veins,
my eyes and ears filled with this black knowledge.
Your malice is seeping into my rains,
withering my lilac and winter sedge.
The snows are clear upon the mountainside,
the sun splashed across like sweet, golden trails…
yet I see the hatred that likes to hide -
reminding me that all gentleness fails.
Take back your spoiling gifts, I need them not,
take the evil you have wrought in my heart…
know that all vengeance is by time begot,
know that my will is not still torn apart…
By the darkness of the will you tried to take,
you will feel the pain that you can never break.
